I'm sure you all know about the ridiculous mess going on with UBD vs. Ploofs. Personally, I'm tired of it, seeing the amount of discussions and hearing so many stories and, above it all, seeing the MPN ruined.
Didzo's protest event was so successful, and as were the ones that later followed. I propose we do something similar, but rather than baiting out one group, try to make people realize that this is a game, that they're ruining in the experience for many people, that innocent creators are suffering too. If you guys don't want to do this, I completely understand - I don't really expect you to, but it's worth asking. The quicker things are stopped, the better. Technically the users are not breaking ToS or any rules, so Maxis can't ban them, and it's not related to the Sporum, so the SporeMasters can't do anything.
From what I've seen, there are currently 6-8 creations on the MPN just moaning and whining. There's also these pages which have discussed things; EAUK and Sporum threads.
I've also got discussions and arguments, if anyone is interested. I really, really think something needs to be done, to at least get a little control. And honestly, we have some very famous and respected users in this forum, especially our Moderator Team, and we could very well ask for help. A number of people also know I've got an idea, so they may assist too. If all goes wrong, I'll take the full blame.

As for the massive argument regarding the two creators... From what I know, for a very long time (before Fooby was around) the UBD Militia were downrated for their dark designs, since some people find it inappropriate. Rumors spread that the UBD downrated others to get up to (something many top creators do) and although it's never been confirmed, I've heard strong statements, even from the Militia themselves, that one 'member' had been downrating, and the rest of the UBD did not approve of it. That's all I know about the downrating mess before Fooby appeared. Hydro_Glyph has also been banned due to downraters attempting to ban him.
I know a handful of people who are trying to 'control' the MPN by choosing what deserves to be rated up and rated down - apparently, the community isn't allowed a vote anymore. I've spoken to Hydro_Glyph, and await a response from Dirtymeat - they both seem like reasonable people, and not the 'cyberbullies' Fooby makes them out to be. I also find it really suspicious that, while everything was kept calm for months, creators like Fooby and Excalibur appeared out of no where, with talent I'll admit, and suddenly condemn the UBD, without proof (as far as I'm aware).
The admins/mods at EuroSpore think Excalibur is an alt of someone like Didzo, Mouthwash, or any of the other greater known creators. Fooby, I have no idea, I only heard of him when I saw the silly protest creations on the MPN. It's also really weird how one moment, everything was fine, next moment, a creation got 1 MPN. That's impossible without pure mass-uprating. I don't like to take sides, but having seen silly arguments and events going on Spore for 1.5 years, I've never witnessed sudden changes like this.
One last thing; Spore is a game. Pure and simple (as I told Fooby, who shouted at me) Please don't get involved in this. I know this is a nice, calm community who often keep to themselves. It's always been like this since I joined this forum. I wouldn't want this place to spawn Sporumers and MPN-Creators and become a target for protest and arguments.

Hydro was a bit rude, but I probably would be too if people were massively downrating my creations.
S/he seems like an experienced creator to me, and what is wrong with his/her creations getting into the MPN? They're pretty good.
Fooby seems kind of like a newbie to me, (newbie not n00b, there is a difference) s/he needs to calm down and lay off the shift key.
No offense intended, but to me it looks like Fooby is trying to start a fight and maybe over exaggerating a bit.
If someone called my creations 'trash', I wouldn't flip out a post a creation fussing about it. I'd probably be mad of a few hours, a day or two at the most.

I would reward your courage for entering the club which your downrating is ruining, but I ask only that you stop downrating the Ploofs, some people actualy like them. I like the comedy looks of the ploofs as well as the insane levels of detail on most UBD creations.
I have buddied thunderpants as I admire his ploofs and I shall buddy you dirtymeat as I respect your creations.

- The only thing ruining the club is that guy fooby who insists on creating a drama as to gain attention. just look at his creation..half the comments are from alt accounts(lol prob himself) which were also used to mass downrate. My problem is not with your club or creative style...in fact you guys have some good creations. (sickeningly cute as they are) I Just posted in here because it will be seen by his "friends" If Fooby has a problem with Hydro then he should not have dragged UBD creators into it...not the smartest cookie in the jar. - Well can you encourage the other UBD members not to downrate Ploofs but to downrate those siding with FoobyDoo.
I'm not uploading any creation untill this whole mess is sorted out...

Being in Ploof Club doesn't mean that we support him.
[color=red]Ploof Creators seem unaware of Fooby's actions. I've spoken to Hydro numerous times, and he doesn't seem like the 'Cyber-Bully' he's been called. Dirtymeat seems like a reasonable person. UBD have been downrated for months and never appeared to fight back until Fooby appeared. Fooby is a new creator (possibly alt) and is causing masses of trouble, as pointed out by numerous people.
I've also seen plenty of proof of Flooby and a couple of his friends shouting, whining and flaming, but near enough nothing from the UBD, except for Hydro's latest creations' description.[/red]

| I just had another idea. Either make a stand, like as stated above, or simply downrate all of the other silly creations arguing, or both.
I'm very well aware that this is being hypocritical, and would be highly frowned upon, but it's to try and keep order. Get the drama away and make things return to how they once were. If we let it continue, it could just get worse, or end with creators leaving.
The creations flooding the MPN are also getting in the way for other creators who try to make the effort. I know that us creating protest things would get in the way, too, but that's just for 24 hours, or less if we delete them (or if they get downrated). These other creations have been hovering around for a couple of days now, and it looks like it wont end any time particularly soon. It would be great to see it all end soon... | |

| Well I'm behind your idea to just for one day flood the mpn with "Stop this crap" creations. Like I've already said and showed to you, I've already got a creation waiting that seems appropriate.
And as for Skijarama's attack on Descardion, if he does he'll get whats coming to him. I've known Descardion well for a while, so I'm behind him. Also I agree with the comments, that FoobyDoo kid is jus being such an over exaggerating whiner. Sure Hydro did say things he should have, but nothing bad enough to report him or downrate him for |
